Cars.com Reviews the 2011 Chevy Cruze
Posted on 31. Jul, 2010 by admin.
Forget the Chevy Cobalt. The poor excuse for an American compact car has been filed in the auto industry’s trash bin of history. In its place is the all-new Chevy Cruze that senior editor Joe Wiesenfelder heaps plenty of praise on. Except for some poor trim material selections here and there and some lag in the six-speed automatic transmission, it sounds like Wiesenfelder is completely impressed. Read his full review to see what wowed him.

Charity auctions are never a bad thing, but when you’ve got a chance to walk away with a one-off joint-custom car from Mustang powerhouses Shelby and Roush, there’s a little extra incentive to be generous. Obama Behind the Wheel of the Chevy Volt
Posted on 30. Jul, 2010 by admin.
His press secretary jokes that it better have an airbag, but the image of President Barack Obama behind the wheel of the Chevy Volt plug-in electric vehicle is a strong illustration of his ties to bailing out the auto industry last year.
“Some of you saw me drive the Volt about 12 inches; they don't let me drive much these days,” Obama said. Jokes aside, reporters from the president’s visit to GM and Chrysler plants in Michigan today relayed the events as inspirational for the workers in attendance. One GM executive was even said to be openly emotional when talking about his company being saved from possible liquidation. The official GMBlogs Twitter account posted, “#POTUS has left the building. Amazing speech supporting the auto industry. Workers all fired up! Thanks Obama! #GM”
Besides the politics at play, there was some news about the Volt today. GM says it has increased its production plans for the extended-range plug-in vehicle by 50%, moving the number of units for 2012 from 30,000 to 45,000.

When Subaru introduced the 2005 Legacy GT wagon with a turbocharged flat four, all-wheel-drive, and a manual transmission, it went straight to the short list of cars I’d buy…if I was buying a car. But I wasn’t buying a car. Apparently there were too many like me, for Subaru discontinued the [...]
