Recall Alert: 2010-2011 Land Rover LR2
Posted on 29. Nov, 2010 by admin.
Land Rover is recalling 2,956 2010-2011 LR2s over a manufacturing error that could affect the deployment of the driver’s side airbag, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
In the affected vehicles the shorting bar in the clock spring may become disconnected when the driver’s side airbag module was installed. As a result, the airbag may not deploy as intended or not at all, which could increase the risk of injury in an accident.
Land Rover dealers will repair and install a spacer into the driver’s airbag clock spring harness connector free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin Dec. 13. Owners may call Land Rover at 800-637-6837 or NHTSA’s hot line at 888-327-4236.

Recall Alert: 2011 Volvo S80, S60, XC70 and XC60
Posted on 29. Nov, 2010 by admin.
Volvo is recalling 6,046 vehicles from the 2011 model year due to potential engine stalling, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
On the 2011 Volvo S80, S60, XC70 and XC60, the engine software that controls fuel cutoff function has been programmed to be too sensitive. In affected vehicles, the engine idle speed may drop, resulting in a sudden engine stall when braking or coasting in stop-and-go traffic. This could increase the risk of a crash.
All recalled vehicles will get updated software from Volvo to correct the problem free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on Dec. 10, and Volvo will send recall notices to affected owners.
For more info, owners can call Volvo at 800-458-1552 or NHTSA’s hot line at 888-327-4236.

Posted on 29. Nov, 2010 by admin.
For the 2011 model year, BMW has completely redesigned its 5 Series sedan. On the outside, the sedan loses many of its awkward styling cues, giving the new vehicle a more aggressive look overall, according to Cars.com senior editor Joe Wiesenfelder. The new powertrain provides sufficient oomph and great fuel economy due to a new Brake Energy Regeneration system. Unfortunately, the new brakes result in an uneven, nonlinear braking feel. On the inside, BMW keeps things simple and understated in a good way, Joe says, but there are many features that aren’t standard in this $50,000-plus car. Is the BMW worth the price premium?
