2013 Infiniti JX35: Car Seat Check

When it comes to the three-row vehicles, in the third row access is a big deal, especially if children are Seats part of the equation. With installed child safety seats in a second row bench, it can take anywhere between difficult to impossible, in the third row, without crawling get a number of seats.

The designers at Infiniti have determined that problem with the all-new 2013 JX35 and its sliding second-row bench. The 60/40-split seat slides and tilts forward – everything is installed with a front-facing child safety seat – to create a walkway to the third line.

For the Car Seat Check, we use a Graco SnugRide 30 rear-facing infant seat safety seat, a Britax Roundabout convertible child-safety seat and Graco high-back seat turbocharger.

The front seats are adjusted to a comfortable position for a 6-foot driver and a 5-foot-8 passenger. The three child seats installed in the second row. The child seat installed sitting behind the driver's seat, and the infant seat and convertible seats behind the passenger seat. We install the convertible seat in the second row, the center seat to be seen with the booster and child seats in the outboard seats that fit three car seats. If there's a third row, we install the booster seat and a forward-facing convertible.

Here's how the 2013 JX35 check in Cars.com 's Car Seat did:

Latch system: The JX is preparing for the family-friendly by. Only two sets of lower Latch anchors in its three rows of seats Latch the anchors are in the second row of the outer seats. The anchors are easy to use because they are not buried behind stiff seat cushions.

There are three tether anchors in the second row of the backrest, and a fourth anchor in the third row of the backrest. All are easy to use, with plenty of space to the tether anchor.

Booster seat: In the second row, our high-back booster seat well (photo above) will fit, thanks to the reclining backrest. When buckling, the buckle is pushed down into the seat cushion, but then springs back up. It's hard to say whether children are able buckle up, just for themselves.

The third row has two passenger seats with headrests that fold. The seats are really flat and wide, so it just fit for our booster seat on it. However, making the same flat seats make it easy for the booster on the buckle, which is deep in the seat cushion slide sunk.

Convertible seat: Both the front (see photo above) fit well or rear-facing convertible car seats in the second row. In the third series, we installed the front-facing convertible (photo below) with the seat belt without any problems.

Infant-safety seat: This rear-facing child seat (see photo below) had a lot of space in the second row of the JX.

Third row access: JX the sliding second row creates a walkway for the third series – also with a forward-facing car seat in the seat.

How many car seats fit in the second row? Two

How many car seats fit in third row? Two

Editor's note: For three car seats – infant-safety seat, convertible and booster seats – to fit in a car, our criterion is that a child sitting in the booster seat must reach the buckle. Parents should also remember that they can use the Latch system or a seat belt to install a car seat.
