The current generation Opel Astra made its debut in Europe back in May of 2009 and ever since its release there have been hopes that the car could eventually make its way to the U.S. as a Saturn or even a Buick. General Motors is offering numerous zero-percent financing deals through the end of March on 2009 and 2010 Chevrolet, Buick and GMC models. For qualified buyers, you’ll find 60-month terms teamed with the zero percent on 2010 cars, while 2009 models have 72-month terms available through March 31, 2010. Many popular models are included, such as the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu and 2010 Chevrolet Traverse, as well as 2010 Chevrolet and GMC pickups of the 1500, 2500HD and 3500HD variety.

Ford Beats GM on Strength of SUVs, Trucks

Yes, Ford overtook GM in February as the country’s best-selling auto company for the first time since 1998, but it didn’t do it by selling a fleet of Fusion Hybrids ( Cars.com’s Best of 2010 award winner ). No, it beat GM by a mere 334 units with strong sales of its F-Series pickup and the Edge crossover and Escape compact SUV. Toyota’s sales decline in February gave the two domestic brands a chance to grab the sales spotlight, but those vehicle sales are still dominated by trucks and now crossovers

New Study Has Ford Overtaking Toyota in Quality Perception

The situation just keeps getting stickier, so to speak. On the heels of its latest mass recall , a study released Wednesday reports Toyota fell to seventh place for 2010 models — from second place in 2009 — among 20 mainstream brands in perceived quality. Ford, meanwhile, moved from eighth place last year to sixth for 2010.
