Sources Say: GMC Sierra Denali HD Dually Planned

If a high-end 2011 GMC Sierra Denali 2500 Heavy Duty with two rear wheels is good, then four wheels must be better. GM sources say an even heavier duty dually version of the Denali is planned for introduction later this year. The addition of the upscale Denali trim for the latest Sierra HD was announced Wednesday at the 2010 Work Truck Show but it will only be available as a crew cab, four-wheel drive three-quarter-ton model with a choice of either the standard 6.0-liter V-8 gas engine or the 6.6-liter Duramax V-8 turbodiesel.

More Toyota Prius Acceleration Issues Reveal Lack of Fix

Recent incidents with 2004-2009 model year Toyota Prius hybrids have shed new light into the recall process of nearly 6 million Toyota and Lexus cars in the U.S. Police investigators, Toyota and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are looking into Monday’s incident involving a 2008 Prius traveling over 90 mph with a stuck pedal in California. No cause has been determined, but the owner said his Toyota dealer told him his car wasn’t involved in the recall

Mercedes-Benz Demonstrates Futuristic Safety Systems

Before shipping the ESF 2009 concept home to Germany, Mercedes-Benz demonstrated some of the vehicle’s futuristic safety features for reporters in New Jersey. This included the Child Protect System, which uses steel-reinforced padded bolsters around a child-safety seat for children between ages 3 and 12.

First, the optional media hub I needed to have — which has a USB plug for iPods and flash drives — wasn’t working. The dealer needed the car overnight and lent us an Impreza while it was being fixed.

It's a well-maintained grade that's a favorite with Ford's engineers. It averages about seven percent as it twists and turns rising 1,500 feet from the desert floor to the high desert.
